Individual Counseling
What is Individual Counseling?
Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) provides free, confidential, short-term, student-centered, culturally responsive, and solution focused individual and group mental health counseling to 淫性视频 students. Students may be experiencing personal difficulties that interfere with their University adjustment and success. Brief counseling has several important features: (a) the focus is on identifying specific and attainable goals, (b) attention is given primarily to the present rather than the past, and (c) both counselor and client are active in the process. For those who may require more intensive work, CAPS can provide referral options that are available locally.
A counseling session is typically 30-50 minutes in length and sessions are commonly scheduled once weekly or bimonthly; sessions are scheduled based on therapeutic need. If you arrive late for your appointment, you will have a reduced amount of time in the session or you may need to reschedule.
Individual counseling services are provided by clinically licensed social workers and professional counselors, as well as clinical supervised masters level interns. Our counselors follow HIPAA confidentiality practices and professional ethical standards to ensure student privacy.
Are Walk-In Services Available?
Whenever possible, we encourage students to schedule an appointment. In the event of an urgent mental health need, students can walk-in and be seen by a clinician Monday-Friday, 8:30am-4pm. (Students may need to wait a few minutes if there are multiple walk-ins simultaneously)
In case of a mental health emergency or after-hours issue, please call 淫性视频 Police at 609-652-4390, or dial 911.

How Can I Make or Reschedule an Appointment?
Making an Appointment
Students can make an appointment to see a counselor by calling CAPS at 609.652.4722, emailing us at counseling.services@stockton.edu, or by coming to our office, located in J-204. Because many students use our services, there may be a waiting period as the semester goes on (usually from a few days to 2 weeks) before the first appointment can be scheduled.
Appointments are available Monday-Friday during the semester. A limited number of walk-in appointments are available for students who need to be seen on the same day. If you are in crisis, please inform the receptionist and we will make every attempt to respond to you as soon as possible.
For evening and weekend hours, we are pleased to announce a partnership with Uwill, the leading student mental health and wellness solution. Uwill offers students free immediate access to teletherapy, a direct crisis connection, and wellness programming through its easy to use online platform.
Canceling or Rescheduling an Appointment
Counseling Services are offered on an appointment basis. Canceling or missing appointments leads to an ineffective use of valuable staff time which could have been afforded to other students in need. If you must miss a session due to illness or emergency, please contact the center to cancel the appointment as far in advance as possible.
Are Psychiatric Services Available?
Students who are linked with CAPS counseling services may also be linked with psychiatric services for medication monitoring and support.
