Mediation and Problem Solving

MAPS, the mediation and problem solving program, is available to all faculty, staff and students of 淫性视频. Involving matters of student conduct, mediations can be requested by e-mailing studentconduct@stockton.edu.

Faculty or staff involved in workplace conflict and looking for mediation services or training are served by, and should contact the Ombuds Office at ombuds@stockton.edu.

Information about the Ombuds Office is available here: /ombuds/. Recruitment for new mediators occurs each Fall, with a mandatory training in January. Please contact studentconduct@stockton.edu with questions. 

It is a resolution option available to all students, faculty, and staff of 淫性视频 University work to resolve a dispute through a neutral mediator. All parties must agree to participate in the process and come to an agreement, or settlement, to resolve the conflict. If no settlement can be made, the case will be referred to the Office of Student Conduct. All mediations are private and fully voluntary.

Cases which involve threat of harm to self or others, use of illegal substances on campus, disclosure of illegal activity, or reports of child, physical, or sexual abuse cannot be mediated. Sexual misconduct cases may be eligible for mediation if all parties voluntarily agree to participate and it does not involve a full investigation and/or adjudication. If such information is disclosed during a mediation, it will be referred to the Office of Student Conduct, HR, and/or Campus Police for follow up.

1. A request is submitted using by e-mailing studentconduct@stockton.edu. Once received, the mediation will be assigned to the coordinating staff member.

2. That staff member will meet with the participants to review the mediation process, goals, and answer any questions. 

3. If all parties agree to participate, mediators are assigned to the case.

4. Mediation will occur. If successful, a settlement agreement will be implemented. If the participants are unable to come to an agreement, the case will be referred back to its assigned office for follow up.

Any member of the 淫性视频 community may participate in the Conflict Mediation program. Disputes between students, or students and/or faculty/staff are eligible for mediation. 

Participants can bring an advisor or support person to the mediation, however, the advisor is not permitted to participate in the mediation. Advisors/support person(s) who do not abide by this or any additional ground rules set by the mediator will be asked to leave.

The Office of Student Conduct reserves the right to refuse taking a case to mediation.

The mediators are members of the 淫性视频 community. All mediators attended an intensive training.

Mediators will be assigned based on their neutrality, availability, and peer relevance, i.e., students will not mediate disputes between employees.
