Under the auspices of the Vice President for Student Affairs, and in support of university priorities, the Dean of Students office is comprised of important strategic teams that focus on the inclusive engagement, retention and wellness of our student community.

 

Engagement and Community Development 

Enhancement of student life on our Galloway and Atlantic City campuses, involving the offices of:

Event Services and Campus Center Operations
The Office of Event Services and Campus Center Operations is your one stop for planning and scheduling events at ÒùÐÔÊÓƵ. This office serves as a liaison between the event planner and the offices that provide support services for events. ÒùÐÔÊÓƵ’s multipurpose, state of the art facilities enable us to service meetings, seminars, conferences, exhibits, camps, and other special events. The campus also offers a variety of athletic and recreational facilities as well as on-campus overnight accommodations during the summer months.

The office also manages building operations for the Campus Center including a lost and found depository, student event ticketing service, the Game Room and a variety of Campus Center sponsored programs.

Student Development 
The Office of Student Development is responsible for advisement of college organizations and their activities as well as leadership development for students involved in the co-curricular program. Information on clubs and organizations, the Student Senate, OspreyAdvantage program, fraternities and sororities, and non-traditional student services may be found on its Web site.


Student Health and Wellness

Wellness Center 
The goal of the Wellness Center at ÒùÐÔÊÓƵ is to assist students, faculty, and staff in reaching an optimal level of health and wellness and to respect the connection between physical, emotional and mental health and the process of changing behaviors that contribute to poor health choices. The following offices comprise the Wellness Center:


Student Transitions, Access and Retention

Collaborate with  Enrollment Management and Academic Affairs to support students’ transition to the university, graduation and post-graduate success, as well as support to parents and families, involving the following divisional offices:

Career Education and Development
Career Education & Development guides and assists students and alumni through the process of developing and implementing comprehensive career and educational plans that will prepare them for success. The center offers a variety of services including career counseling, graduate school advising, resume critiques, interview preparation and assistance with internship and job searching. In addition, Career Education & Development helps students and graduates connect with employers by offering employer and networking opportunities including career fairs, on-campus interviewing and alumni career panels.

Educational Opportunity and Success Programs  
- EOF is designed to meet the educational and financial needs of students whose potential for college may not be reflected in their academic grades and whose economic background makes it extremely difficult for them to pursue a college education without financial aid. Information on the Program and eligibility requirements are available on the EOF Web page.

- Student Success Scholars Program (formerly CARE) is a program designed to assist students with their overall experience here at ÒùÐÔÊÓƵ. The Program aims to help students navigate and maximize the benefits of various academic and student life resources available at ÒùÐÔÊÓƵ and includes individualized mentoring by ÒùÐÔÊÓƵ faculty and staff and trained peer mentors.

Military & Veteran Success Center
The Military & Veteran Success Center was created for the purpose of outreach to student veterans, active service members and reservists. A primary mission of the veteran’s program is to guide ÒùÐÔÊÓƵ veterans and active service members to a variety of services that may benefit them and help them to connect with one another. With the anticipated return of our troops from overseas, ÒùÐÔÊÓƵ will further the development of these programs and services.

Student Transition Programs 
The Office of Student Transition Programs strives to provide excellent programing in the areas of orientation, transition and retention to serve all new undergraduate students at ÒùÐÔÊÓƵ.  The office is committed to providing an environment for inclusion while welcoming and acclimating new students to our institution in collaboration with Academic Affairs and other campus partners. It also provides programming for parents and family members to ensure student success from enrollment through commencement.

Office of the Dean of Students 

Women's Gender and Sexuality Center 

The Women's, Gender & Sexuality Center empowers students who identify as women and all genders who identify as LGBTQIA+, victims of power-based personal violence, and community allies.  WGSC will accomplish this by promoting equality and justice, ensuring access to opportunities, and providing services through education and advocacy.

Office of Student Conduct

The Office of Student Conduct oversees Campus Hearing Board process and Campus Conduct Code for students; in addition, we also oversee the Behavioral Intervention Team (BIT) and the Mediation & Problem Solving Program (MAPS).
