Grade Appeals and Course Related Concerns

The steps including the timeline of the Grade Appeal and Course Related Concern procedures are listed below.

Please note, as stated in the timeline below, the outcome of Grade Appeals and resolution of a Course Related Concerns will be provided in 2-4 weeks, or more, depending on scheduling.

Steps (including timeline)

  1. Informal Attempt

    Contact the course professor directly to discuss your request for a grade appeal or course related concern.

  2. Formal Attempt

    If step 1 fails to resolve the issue, complete the . Select the appropriate reason for requesting assistance from the Dean's Office. Include documentation that would support your request.

  3. Meeting with the Dean's Office

    A staff member from the School of Arts and Humanities Dean's Office will contact you within 48 business hours of receipt of the form response to schedule a meeting to discuss the request/concern. The meeting will be scheduled within 5 business days of receipt of the form, depending on availability.

  4. Meeting between the Dean's Office and the Course Professor

    The School of Arts and Humanities Dean's Office will meet seperately with the course professor to discuss the request/concern. The meeting will be scheduled within 5 business days following the meeting between the School of Arts and Humanities Dean's Office and the student.

  5. Notification of Outcome/Resolution

    The School of Arts and Humanities Assistant Dean and Dean will review documentation and meeting notes for alignment with the university's procedures. The student should expect an outcome of the grade appeal or resolution of the course related concern 2-3 weeks following their initial meeting with the Dean's Office.

  6. Final Step for Grade Appeals Only
