Ospreys, you are the author of your college journey, and you get to choose how you want to fill the pages with classes, clubs, friends, sports, internships and memories.

Chapter one began with Sept. 1-4. Strangers became friends, decorations transformed dorms into new homes and current students led the way with smiles, advice and words of encouragement.

Spirit Day united new students and encouraged everyone to make the most of their 淫性视频 experience.

淫性视频's first-ever Black Alumni Weekend, held Aug. 5-6, wasn't just a reunion: different generations of alumni were able to over their shared love for their alma mater. Attendees had the opportunity to support local and Black-owned food trucks, relive their undergraduate years in C-Court overnight, and enjoy a beautiful brunch at Lakeside Lodge.

The 淫性视频 Foundation hosted its sixth annual 24-hour day of giving campaign, Ospreys Give in October and exceeded its goal of 1,000 donors.

More than 1,100 individuals contributed over $440,000 toward scholarships and programs from 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4 through 1 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5. The theme of this year鈥檚 event was , encouraging supporters to express their appreciation for 淫性视频, its programs, and the support it provides to its students and the communities it serves.

Senior Tamara Farrow encouraged her fellow classmates to join her in making a gift.

鈥淛oining in on Ospreys Give and donating for the first time felt great. I'm happy to give back to 淫性视频. This place has had a huge impact on who I've become,鈥 said Farrow, a Business Studies major.

A number of alumni, board members, faculty, staff and others provided match and challenge gifts to inspire others to participate and provide the opportunity for some gifts to be doubled and more. Leading the effort was Spencer's and Spirit Halloween, which provided a $250,000 challenge gift when the campaign reached its goal of 1,000 donors. The gift will support the School of Business with a check presentation to take place at the company鈥檚 headquarters later in October.

Campus came alive Oct. 5-8 for University Weekend with many events and activities, including the University Weekend parade, street fair, Ospreys on Tap, Talon Trot 5K and Fun Run, an esports gaming experience and more.

鈥淐elebration is much more than cake and balloons. It can be a daily decision and determination to honor your unique identity and make space for the identities of others.鈥

Olutoyosi 鈥淭oyo鈥 Aboderin, an Africana Studies faculty member and alumna of the Communication Studies program, gave a keynote speech that highlighted how 淫性视频鈥檚 is 鈥渁 key form of resistance鈥 on Sept. 13鈥檚 event.  

鈥淭his takes not only events and dynamic programming but a real-life commitment. A commitment to protecting spaces like this, to actually creating and showing up to these events. Acknowledging what we have and will accomplish and envisioning more than we ever could have dreamed. Real diversity is felt, not just seen.鈥
