������Ƶ Blanks Haverford 2-0

The field hockey team made its  on Sept. 6 a success as the Ospreys shut out Haverford College 2-0. ������Ƶ earned its first win of the season and dealt the Fords their first defeat. The game began a stretch of three out of four at home for the Ospreys.

Carlee Thompson and Kirsten Bailey each scored a goal in the first half to propel the Ospreys to victory. ������Ƶ held a slim 10-8 advantage in shots and successfully defended all 13 Haverford penalty corners.

������Ƶ Ties #11 Washington & Lee 0-0

The men’s soccer team  a 0-0 tie in a neutral site game on Sept. 5 against Washington & Lee, which is ranked 11th in the United Soccer Coaches Division III poll. The teams met halfway and played the game at the Maryland SoccerPlex.

In his second college game, ������Ƶ goalkeeper Brady Bartletta, a freshman, made six saves to record his first career shutout. Bartletta registered three stops in each half.

Fall Faculty Conference Offers Time to Reconnect Before Semester Starts

The energy was palpable at Fall Faculty Conference Sept. 1 as several hundred ������Ƶ faculty members , bubbling with passion and excitement for the fall semester. Faculty had the opportunity to reconnect, hear updates from President Joe Bertolino and Interim Provost Marissa Levy, and attend school and program meetings.

“Executive Vice President Terricita Sass and I are grateful for your dedication and hard work, and we are looking forward to working and building on the great foundation that has been laid here,” President Joe said.

Fall 2023 Compass Fund Applications Now Open

The Compass Fund  is now open for the Fall 2023 cycle. The Compass Fund provides seed money for student and employee initiatives that support the six themes in the University's .

Now through 8 a.m. Monday, Oct. 2, students, faculty and staff are invited to submit an electronic abstract outlining their project idea.

Projects can fall into three funding categories: a one-time activity; a one-year pilot project; or a two-year pilot project. The Compass Fund Review Board will then evaluate abstracts and project leaders whose abstracts are supported will be eligible to complete a full proposal, due by mid-November.

Roster Verification Reminder for Faculty

Welcome back, faculty! As the fall semester has begun, it's almost time to Verify your Ospreys!

Faculty are reminded to complete the Roster Verification process by confirming student attendance/academic activity beginning after the add/drop period on Tuesday, Sept. 12. The Roster Verification process is to be completed by Wednesday, Sept. 20. The Office of Financial Aid will use this information to make adjustments to student financial aid disbursements based upon each student's confirmed number of credits.

Each instructor will be responsible for verifying student attendance or participation in an academic activity. For online courses, faculty are reminded to include an assignment or discussion activity during the add/drop period so that the student's attendance can be confirmed.

Changes to the 2024-25 FAFSA 

The U.S. Department of Education is implementing a major overhaul of the processes and systems that offer federal student aid, starting with the 24-25 aid year.

As our faculty and staff work closely with our students, we want to make sure you’re aware of the updates being made to the FAFSA, not only to inform students but also because these updates could affect some of your processes.

📅 Join Financial Aid staff from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 29, for a virtual presentation detailing the 24-25 FAFSA changes and how these changes may impact faculty and staff. During the presentation, questions faculty and staff may have after learning about the new changes to the FAFSA will be answered. All faculty and staff are invited to attend. For those unable to attend, the presentation will be recorded. Register for the event .

Please note that the 24-25 FAFSA will not be available by Oct.1, 2023, due to the updates being made. Students and families can expect that the 24-25 FAFSA will be available on or before Dec. 31, 2023.
