Model UN Celebrates 10th Anniversary, Wins Top Award in D.C.
A lot can happen in 10 years, by the 淫性视频 Model United Nations (UN) team growing from six students to over 30 under the guidance of Political Science faculty member Tina Zappile.
Part of the team recently traveled to Washington, D.C., for a National Model UN (NMUN) conference, where they gained real-world experience debating and negotiating social issues. According to Political Science students Sean Lopez and Camille Benoit, the conference was unforgettable, especially after winning the Outstanding Delegation Award while representing Colombia.
Lopez, a Vineland resident and secretary for 淫性视频 Model UN, is currently living in Washington, D.C., as an intern for Sen. Robert Menendez (D-NJ). He had the chance to be one of the head delegates for the conference.
鈥淚t is an amazing achievement to win the Outstanding Delegation Award, as it is the highest award you can win in Model UN. It is the first award I have won with the club and the first Outstanding Delegation Award we have won since 2014. Our team included eight new members who were participating in their first conference, which makes this achievement even more amazing,鈥 Lopez said.
Student, Faculty and Staff Dinner Brings Campus Together
Laughter, companionship and good cheer were in the Campus Center Event Room during the 39th annual Student, Faculty and Staff Dinner on Nov. 16.
Brian K. Jackson, chief operating officer for the Atlantic City campus and emcee for the evening, kicked off the program by encouraging the audience to remember the founders of the dinner, which included Yitzhak Sharon, distinguished professor of Physics, Vera King Farris, the former president of 淫性视频 from 1983 to 2003, and Gail Rosenthal, the late director of the Sara and Sam Schoffer Holocaust Resource Center. According to Jackson, they created this dinner as a way for the campus community to engage with one another shortly before the holidays.

淫性视频 Commemorates Transgender Day of Remembrance
淫性视频 students at a Nov. 20 event to take a moment and learn more about Transgender Day of Remembrance, a nationally commemorated holiday that is meant to remember and honor the lives of transgender individuals lost to violence.
The event in the Michael Jacobson Board of Trustees Room included brief remarks during a free breakfast and featured artwork and poetry created by trans 淫性视频 students. Various organizations also tabled and offered resources to students, including the Women鈥檚 Gender & Sexuality Center (WGSC), Counseling & Psychological Services, student organizations Active Minds and Forensic Psychology Club and the off-campus program Kaleidoscope, which is an extension of the Center for Family Services that exclusively serves LGBTQ+ individuals in New Jersey.
Van Nhi Ho, the coordinator for LGBTQ+ initiatives for the WGSC, hosted the event for the second year with two goals in mind 鈥 to continue creating safe and brave spaces for transgender students on campus and to educate the campus community on the violence that the transgender community faces.

60 Baskets of Hope Delivered to Atlantic City Families
Thanks to the tireless efforts of 淫性视频 students, faculty and staff, 60 families were able all the staples and trimmings fit for a Thanksgiving feast.
Harvest of Hope, which was spearheaded in 2021 during 淫性视频鈥檚 50th anniversary celebration, is a program where students involved with Residential Life, the Dean of Students Office, Student Affairs and the Residential Scholars program utilize donations to create giant care packages for families in need right before the holidays.
The baskets 鈥 which included canned and boxed goods, as well as a $20 gift card 鈥 were then distributed to the families of Asbury Methodist Church in Atlantic City by Associate Dean of Students Marques Johnson and Director of Residential Life Steven Radwanski.

During fall migration, warblers, raptors and monarchs flying down the East Coast funnel through the Cape May peninsula. Jason Kelsey and students in his Coastal Ecosystems class a sliver of their migratory route to learn more about habitats and differences in natural and developed coastlines.
With Cape May on National Geographic's top 10 list of birding destinations in the world, students packed binoculars for the field trip.
The class, part of 淫性视频's Coastal Zone Management master's program, met at Higbee Beach wildlife management area to explore the natural bayshore and then took a short drive downtown to look at how beach engineering can reshape the coast.

Men鈥檚, Women鈥檚 Basketball Teams Beat Rowan
The men鈥檚 basketball team Rowan University by six points in the second half and dealt the Profs their first loss of the season by a 76-73 score on Nov. 21. The Ospreys were dominant inside, outscoring Rowan 30-10 in the paint and outrebounding the Profs 51-41.
DJ Campbell starred for 淫性视频, scoring a game-high 28 points and grabbing a career-high 13 rebounds. Diante Miles tossed in 11 points, while Tayvon Gaither netted 10 markers and dished a career-high four assists.
The women鈥檚 basketball team the last nine points of their game and began conference play with a 48-40 victory on the road at Rowan University. The Ospreys scored 26 points, more than half of their total, in the paint.
Imene Fathi scored a team-high 12 points followed by Emma Morrone with 11 points and a team-high seven rebounds. Fathi and Morrone tied for the team lead with three assists apiece.
Seven Ospreys Receive Academic All-District Soccer Honors
Seven 淫性视频 soccer players, six from the women's team and one from the men's team Academic All-District honors from the College Sports Communicators for the 2023 season.
The women's honorees were juniors Emily Hauck, Kylee Alvarez, Sophia Drea and Erica Dietz along with sophomores Riley Schoka and Logan Shaw.
The men's selection was junior Joseph Carbone. Hauck, Dietz and Carbone were chosen for the second straight year while Alvarez, Drea, Schoka and Shaw received the academic recognition for the first time.

FAFSA Event Focuses on Upcoming Process Changes
The Office of Financial Aid hosted an 鈥淯nderstanding the New FAFSA鈥 workshop for students and families on Nov. 15 in the Campus Center Event Room of the Galloway campus. The event was successful, with 120 in-person attendees and 481 Zoom ones.
Marielena Dottoli, assistant director of Financial Aid, presented aboutcoming to the 24-25 FAFSA.
鈥淪eeing so many students and families attend the event was so impressive. The changes coming to the 24-25 FAFSA are significant and will impact all students and families in one way or another,鈥 Dottoli said. 鈥淭he incredible turnout at the event demonstrated that so many of our current and prospective students and families truly understand the importance of understanding the financial aid process and preparing for the changes coming to the 24-25 FAFSA.鈥
Other department members, including Chris Connors, director of Financial Aid; Jovina Bermudez, associate director of Financial Aid; Angelica Velez, assistant director of Financial Aid; Barbara Potts, program assistant, and student workers Theresa Zawrotny and Nana-Akosua Oduro supported the event in various ways from checking in attendees to moderating the Zoom Q&A.

The Atlantic City shuttle service will stop operating at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, and will not operate Thursday, Nov. 23 through Sunday, Nov. 26. Atlantic City shuttle service will resume at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 27.
The Galloway shuttle service will stop operating at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22, and will not operate Thursday, Nov. 23 through Saturday, Nov. 25. Galloway shuttle service will resume at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 26, and run until 10 p.m.
