Arts Garage Exhibit Focuses on History of A.C. Neighborhood
Janice Merendino鈥檚 new exhibit at the Noyes Arts Garage of 淫性视频 started with a simple question: Who鈥檚 now living in my grandmother鈥檚 house?
That question has led to the of 鈥淒ucktown: An Atlantic City Immigration Story鈥 celebrating the neighborhood through the stories of past and present immigrants. The exhibit opened Jan. 10 and continues until March 31. An opening reception will be held at 1 p.m. Jan. 20 at the Arts Garage.
Merendino, one of the five founders of the Clay Studio in Philadelphia, was driving through Atlantic City about eight years ago when she decided to make an impromptu visit to one of the homes she grew up in in the 1950s and 鈥60s.
鈥淚 got out of the car and was just curious about the house and who lived there now,鈥 said Merendino, who won the 2018 Moore College of Arts and Design Distinguished Alumni Award. 鈥淣eighbors came out to greet me. I was so warmly greeted that I just felt like I needed to come back.鈥

MLK Day of Service Open to All
The 20th Annual MLK Day of Service will be held at 8:30 a.m. this Monday, Jan. 15, featuring projects both on campus, in the community, and through the Galloway, Atlantic City, Woodbine, and Hammonton sites. The event, which is entirely in-person this year, brings together over 500 students, community members, and community partners and often encompasses over 15 projects both on- and off-campus.
The goals of Days of Service are to provide an intensive, community-wide experience for students and to introduce them to partners where they can serve long-term and develop an ongoing relationship. For more information, visit .

'Second Saturdays - The Science of Food Gels' Jan. 13
Second Saturdays in Atlantic City are a series of family-friendly events hosted by 淫性视频 Alumni Relations. They are held on the second Saturday of every month at 淫性视频 Atlantic City.
Come learn about various ways food gels are made, with hands-on activities and tasty samples available to compare gel structures, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 13, in Classroom B119 of Kesselman Hall Residential Building.

SPOTLIGHT ON: JOHN FROONJIAN
, executive director of William J. Hughes Center for Public Policy at 淫性视频, was
the 2023 Steadfast and Loyal Friend by Building One New Jersey. Froonjian received
this award due to being an outstanding ally and supporter of the organization's work
to train and develop leaders advancing social and racial justice in New Jersey.
Froonjian joined the Hughes Center in October 2011, but before that was a newspaper reporter and editor at The Press of Atlantic City for 32 years. Being a voice and telling stories for those who may not be able to otherwise has been a thread woven throughout his evolving career path.
"Few people are as lucky as I was in their professions. Being a journalist before the decline of newspapers was exciting, challenging, rewarding, and, most of all, fun. You met interesting people at all levels of life and got to write about them. It was creative work, and it never felt like a job. I was able to leave on top and was given the opportunity here to establish the 淫性视频 Polling Institute before becoming director of the Hughes Center," Froonjian reflected.

The men鈥檚 basketball team balanced scoring on Jan. 10 to defeat Kean University 85-80. EJ Matthews-Spratley led a quintet of Ospreys in double figures with 20 points, 14 in the second half, as 淫性视频 extended their winning streak to four games.
The contest started with a high pace as both squads shot well from the floor for the first 20 minutes of play. 淫性视频 squeezed out a 23-22 lead at the 10:18 mark, then sprinted off on a 12-6 run to stretch the lead to 35-26, forcing Kean into a time out with 6:24 left in the half.

The women鈥檚 basketball team could not the balanced scoring of Kean University on Jan. 10, and dropped a 78-53 decision. Madison Dulude led the Ospreys with 15 points and seven rebounds, as 淫性视频 allowed the most points in a game this season.
The Ospreys jumped out to an 8-4 lead after 5:13 gone in the first quarter but could not hold the margin. The home squad finished the frame on a 10-3 run to take a 14-11 lead after one period and would not trail again. Dulude and Imene Fathi topped the visitors with three points each.

Time to Confirm Your Ospreys
Welcome back, faculty! As the fall semester is about to begin, it's almost time to Confirm your Ospreys!
New name, same process! Faculty are reminded to complete the Academic Engagement (formerly Roster Verification) process by confirming student attendance/academic activity beginning after the add/drop period on Tuesday, Jan. 23. The Academic Engagement process is to be completed by Tuesday, Jan. 30. The Office of Financial Aid will use this information to make adjustments to student financial aid disbursements based upon each student's confirmed number of credits.
Each instructor will be responsible for confirming student attendance or participation in an academic activity. For online courses, faculty are reminded to include an assignment or discussion activity during the add/drop period so that the student's attendance can be confirmed.

'Soft Launch' of the 24-25 FAFSA
The FAFSA has changed! On Dec. 30, 2023, the U.S. Department of Education started a 鈥渟oft launch鈥 of the 2024-2025 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
During the 鈥渟oft launch,鈥 the 24-25 FAFSA will be available for students and contributors to complete for short periods of time each day.
At this time, the Department of Education recommends that students and families do not rush to complete the 24-25 FAFSA immediately, especially since they will not send FAFSA data to schools and the State of N.J. until later in January/early February.
If students do attempt to complete the FAFSA now, please note that they could experience technical issues or glitches with the form.
Students and families don鈥檛 need to file today, but be sure to file before you miss any deadlines! 淫性视频鈥檚 Priority Filing Deadline for programs with limited funding is March 1. Anyone who received TAG in the 23-24 academic year must file their 24-25 FAFSA by May 15 (extended)!
