When Alexa Moore joined Sigma Delta Tau, she was surprised it was the only sorority on campus that relied on an external car service for social events transportation.

That was the first thing she changed once the junior from Toms River was elected this year to the sorority鈥檚 executive board as the risk management chair.

The designated driver program she established uses other members of Sigma Delta Tau as designated drivers and was a big reason why Moore was  April 13 as the 2023 淫性视频 HERO of the Year by the John R. Elliott HERO Campaign for Designated Drivers庐.

鈥淚 could not be more proud to be aligned with something like this,鈥 Moore said, holding a large poster stating 鈥淏e Like Alexa. Be a Designated Driver.鈥 鈥淚鈥檝e worked really hard in my life to make myself proud of what I鈥檓 doing, and I think this might be my proudest achievement so far.鈥

Some of the 112 graduating students 2023 EOF Graduating Class: A Masterclass in Resilience

The Educational Opportunity Fund (EOF)  its 2023 graduating students with a reception and awards ceremony on April 18 in the Michael Jacobson Board of Trustees Room.

Brett Pulliam, the executive director for Educational Opportunity and Success programs, congratulated the graduates on completing their journey at 淫性视频 and encouraged them to take pride in this moment.

鈥淚n just a few short weeks, you all will be recognized at the commencement ceremony 鈥 with your EOF sash 鈥 and you鈥檒l be part of the over 15,000 students over the last 50 years who have shown the state of New Jersey, the institution and the world that, no matter what obstacles were put in your place, you鈥檙e able to overcome it,鈥 Pulliam said. 鈥淪o, be proud of that fact and be proud of yourselves and everything that you accomplished.鈥


The CEO interns surrounding Ana Edmondson, interim assistant vice president for Student Transition Access and RetentionInaugural Conference Demonstrates Strength of Student Leaders

The first cohort of the Cultural Engagement Ospreys (CEO) interns  the inaugural Inclusive Leadership Conference on April 14 in the Campus Center.

The conference included live music, free sessions on thrifting and headshots, an interactive fair about the art of origami, henna and gaming, and other educational sessions throughout the day. In addition, the conference included two keynote speakers who are also Educational Opportunity Fund alumni 鈥 Anyelis Cordero, CEO of Propel on Purpose Coaching, and Akeem Lloyd, CEO of A Leadership Journey.

Ana Edmondson, interim assistant vice president of Student Transition Access and Retention, supported the students in organizing the conference, which she said has prepared them for the world after graduation by developing their National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) career competencies.


Harvey KesselmanNaming of 'Dr. Harvey Kesselman Way' April 27

A portion of Albany Avenue will officially  as Dr. Harvey Kesselman Way at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, April 27.

The new street sign will be unveiled at a ceremony at the location, adjacent to the 淫性视频 Atlantic City Residential Complex.

The Atlantic City Council  an ordinance to rename the block at a meeting in December, in recognition of Kesselman鈥檚 service to 淫性视频 and Atlantic City. It commends the 淫性视频 president鈥檚 commitment to the public-private partnership to build the Atlantic City campus, which opened in 2018.

AC Phase IIUnveiling of Kesselman Hall Planned for May 3

淫性视频 will  the first Atlantic City residential complex as Kesselman Hall during a ceremony at 12 p.m., May 3, at 3701 Boardwalk. A ribbon-cutting at the Atlantic City Phase 2 residence hall will follow.The Board of Trustees approved naming the building in his honor at the February meeting 鈥渋n recognition of Dr. Kesselman鈥檚 unwavering commitment to the University鈥檚 mission and tireless advancement of the University鈥檚 values.鈥

The building opened in September 2018 with Phase I and is home to more than 500 students each year.

SPOTLIGHT ON: CHRIS CATCHING

Chris CatchingChris Catching, vice president for Student Affairs at 淫性视频, was  a Diamond Honoree by the American College Personnel Association - College Student Educators International (ACPA). He and fellow Diamond Honorees were honored at the March 2023 ACPA Annual Convention in New Orleans. Catching, who has been an Osprey for five years, sat down to discuss the award and its significance.

Sarah Wyatt, a Health Science major, came to the Military and Veteran Success Center in F-105 with her commencement cap and a framed portrait of her father, Mark Wyatt, pictured as a young man smiling in his brown leather aviator jacket and U.S. Navy service hat.

Wyatt's late father won't get to see her graduate, but she proudly wore her cap and held his photo as she sat down for a portrait session honoring both her father's service and her own sacrifices as a child of a military service member. 

April is the Month of the Military Child, designated by the Department of Defense, to recognize the sacrifices and the challenges that military families overcome. 淫性视频's Office of Military and Veteran Services invited military dependents and their parents from the 淫性视频 community to  by posing for a portrait.

淫性视频 Varsity Eight淫性视频 Varsity Eight Wins Gold 馃弳 at Knecht Cup

It's been an exciting week for the women's rowing team! They continued their strong start to the spring season on April 16 by  in the varsity eight at the Knecht Cup for the first time since 1999.

The Ospreys posted a time of 7:30.85 on the Cooper River and crossed the finish line first in the Women's Varsity Eight-DIII by a dominant 21 seconds in the field of six teams.

As a result of their performance, the varsity eight was  MARC Crew of the Week by the Mid-Atlantic Rowing Conference.

Lorelei Hendricks was the coxswain for the varsity eight. The rowers were Emily Latshaw, Amber Hartzell, Megan Baldwin, Madelynn Schina, Marissa Martinelli, Ashley Timm, Gabriella Bates and Izabelle DelRoss.

Additionally, the NCAA  the team second in the Mid-Atlantic Region in rankings released on April 19.

The men鈥檚 lacrosse team  its inaugural season of Coastal Lacrosse Conference play with a 16-15 victory over Montclair State on April 19. The Ospreys built a seven-goal lead and held off a late rally by the Red Hawks.

Reegan Capozzoli led 淫性视频 with four goals and one assist to tie for game-high scoring honors with five points. Brendan McHale equaled his career high with three goals.

25 Integrative Health Minor Graduates25 Integrative Health Minor Graduates Celebrated
The School of Health Sciences held a  in the Campus Center Theatre to celebrate 25 students graduating with their minor in Integrative Health, a concentration that provides a foundation to explore various holistic therapies and integrative medicine.
Speakers at the event were Mary Lou Galantino, distinguished professor of Physical Therapy and program coordinator; Lee Bryant, assistant dean of the School of Health Sciences; and students Jennifer Dorval and Madison Colombo
