淫性视频 State College, later The Richard 淫性视频 College of New Jersey and 淫性视频 University, was founded as a teaching institution and teaching remains the core of its pedagogical identity. What, how, and who 淫性视频 teaches, however, has changed in important respects since it accepted its first class in 1971.

淫性视频 first opened with six Divisions. Three of these had academic concentrations: Arts and Humanities, Natural Sciences and Mathematics, and Social and Behavioral Sciences, respectively. An additional Division, Professional Studies, focused on more applied disciplines, and a fifth Division of Graduate and Continuing Education managed the small number of graduate programs and less traditional forms of study. From the outset, General Studies was an integral part of any 淫性视频 degree, so much so that it formed the sixth Division.

In 2008, the Board of Trustees approved the creation of two new academic schools for the College in response to local demand鈥攁 School of Business and a School of Education. At the same time, 淫性视频鈥檚 former six Divisions were formally designated as Schools bringing the total number of such entities to eight. A ninth School, in Health Sciences, launched later that same year. The School of Business and School of Health Sciences have subsequently become the two largest schools on campus.

When 淫性视频 turned 50 in 2021, it was the academic home of 11,788 students, including Dual Credit students completing coursework while enrolled in high school, able to choose from 118 academic majors, minors, and certificates, and offered multiple graduate degrees including three doctoral programs. The institution鈥檚 growth, both at the undergraduate and graduate level, is what led to the decision to apply for reclassification from a liberal arts college to a comprehensive university in 2015.
