President's Message
Welcome to ÒùÐÔÊÓƵ! Our campus community is honored to partner with the American Conference on Diversity in hosting the 18th annual Diversity Issues in Higher Education Conference. This conference provides a tremendous opportunity for members of our campus and the local community to become engaged in addressing critical issues around diversity and inclusion.
Since its founding, ÒùÐÔÊÓƵ has promoted civic learning and has fostered an environment that values civil debate, critical thinking, and multiple points of view. However, I am very clear that for those who choose to disseminate messages of hatred, bigotry, and racism at ÒùÐÔÊÓƵ: Not on this campus; not at our University.
This year’s conference theme is Diversity and Inclusion: Life and Death Matters. As unthinkable tragedies, controversial executive orders, and provocative protests have stirred the emotions of our country, the speakers, workshop panelists, and students will engage us in a conversation that I hope will continue as we return to our various workplaces.
We applaud the American Conference on Diversity for their work in building bridges across cultural divides, while raising issues of critical importance to all of us.
Please enjoy the conference, ÒùÐÔÊÓƵ and our surrounding communities.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Dr. Harvey Kesselman
President, ÒùÐÔÊÓƵ
