The Baccalaureate Child Welfare Education Program has moved to an electronic application process. In order to submit an application, please make sure that you have the following items ready for submission: personal statement, current r茅sum茅, and unofficial transcript copy.

Applications are due by March 15, 2024.

BCWEP Applications require you to submit personal information including contact information, a valid driver's license number, student ID number, confirmation that you have a social security number, employment eligibility, and county preferences for field placements. Click each box below for further details and instruction. The prompts for the personal statement are provided below.

An important part of this application is a personal statement from you that tells us about your progress as a social work student, your interest in child welfare, and your plans for future professional development. Your statement should be no more than five (5) pages and consist of essay responses to the following four questions:

1. Please explain why you would like to be a social worker in the field of child welfare. Include any significant educational or professional experience(s) that may have influenced your decision.

2. What professional qualities and skills do you currently possess that will aid you in becoming an effective social worker in child welfare? What are some potential challenges you may face in becoming an effective social worker in child welfare?

3. Please state your understanding of the importance of diversity and difference in shaping life experiences. Why is this especially important to understand when working with the children and families of New Jersey?

4. What do you know about the efforts underway in New Jersey to transform child welfare services for vulnerable children and their families? How might you contribute toward these efforts as part of BCWEP?

Please save the file as a Word (.doc, .docx) or PDF before uploading.

Prepare and upload a current and recent copy of your r茅sum茅. Please save the file as a Word (.doc, .docx) or PDF before uploading.

Upload an unofficial copy of your most recent transcript. Please ensure the file is a PDF file.

Please note that if you do not possess a social security number, you will not be able to submit an application and are not eligible for the BCWEP program or employment with DCP&P.

If you encounter any difficulties while completing the application process, please contact BCWEP@stockton.edu or call 609-652-4260, and we will be happy to assist you.
