Meet the Donors:
Alfred Engelberg moved to Atlantic City in 1946 when he was six years old. His parents and sister were Jewish refugees who were fortunate to leave Germany in October 1938. His mother was a seamstress who eventually opened her own tailoring and dress shop, and his father was a janitor at Atlantic City Electric. Engelberg graduated from Atlantic City High School in 1956. He went on to obtain a bachelor鈥檚 degree in chemical engineering from Drexel University and a law degree from New York University, and subsequently enjoyed a highly successful career as a patent lawyer. He credits his childhood in Atlantic City for providing him with the tools for a successful life. Engelberg was awarded a $2,000 scholarship to attend college. This experience provided an indelible lesson in the importance of philanthropy to creating opportunity. The Engelbergs believe the opening of 淫性视频鈥檚 campus in Atlantic City was a pivotal moment in the city鈥檚 history and worked with the institution to create a comprehensive scholarship program for local residents with financial need and the potential for leadership, with the goal of producing future generations of community leaders.
